Lynne is a retired Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme leader, and environmental youth worker; and was play and leisure manager for a children’s disability charity (KIDS) for many years. During her child-rearing years she was a breastfeeding counsellor. She ran a colour life-coaching business before fully retiring to write and create art.
She is a mother and grandmother, practices meditation, gentle yoga, and enjoys experimenting with journal art, watercolours, ink drawing & illustrating. She reads (and writes) science fiction & fantasy, among other genres.
Lynne’s all-time hero is Doctor Who, and she’s still expecting the Tardis dropping in for a visit one day soon. She aims to discover how to cross dimensions to go live with the elves in Middle Earth. A favourite dream is to dance in space: actually in space, not just inside a spaceship. She believes in fairies, and angels. So… she’s a tiny bit crazy but who isn’t!
Lynne’s tiny wildlife garden is full of colourful flowers, herbs, and plants useful to insects and birds. Her pond is home to frogs and one chatty toad, and in summer, the garden’s full of butterflies and honeybees.
Most of her writing has an environmental thread within it, with a generous sprinkling of magic. In 2016 she won the Val Wood Writing Award. Many of her interests & dreams have found their way into her writing. And don’t forget writing, gardening and art are all therapeutic.

Yorkshire Media is a digital marketing agency in Beverley and we provide support to Celestial Explorers with their website and marketing. Our junior graphic designer Jemima has regular meetings with Maureen to keep the website updated. She also adds details of events, blogs and practitioners.
Our director Lynn met Maureen several years ago at Women’s Enterprise in the Humber networking group, which Maureen ran for many years helping women in business throughout the Humber region.
We first became involved with Celestial Explorers when Maureen approached us about a website. We worked with her to come up with a design that reflected the spiritual nature of the group. Since then we have helped her with printed materials for her Experience Day and will continue to support the group and help it to grow.
